For my Final Major Project at Solent University, I decided to create a surface pattern collection to be used within interior settings as fabric and wallpaper inspired by my heritage and home country, South Africa. I named the collection after what South Africa has been come to be known as: The Rainbow Nation
I did some research in to the native wildlife, plants, cultural elements and also looked at popular and unique areas within my home town of the city of Cape Town. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to showcase my collection at New Designers in London that summer and was picked out by Colwill & Waud from the show to be one of their freelance designers. Through working for Colwall & Waud, I have had my designs showcased at Textile and Design conventions in Europe such as Heimtextil in Germany and in the US.
