Dubbed the Redrum, this is a second bedroom converted in to a music studio in my apartment for my partner who is a self employed guitarist. This room is being used not just for writing music but also for teaching guitar, filming for his social media platforms and demo-ing gear. He wanted the room to be atmospheric and bold with colour. I sourced this textured wooden wallpaper to use as a feature wall and found blinds that match it. The rest of the walls were to be painted in red for that added punch of colour and to tie in with the second hand rug we found at an auction. I felt the furniture needed to be dark so that it didn't stand out from the rest of the room and added to the masculine, music studio vibe my partner wanted to go for.
I created a rough product board so that he could begin to visualise how the space would look and used Roomstyler to figure out layouts. There was one clear winner as to which wall would have the feature wall and where his desks should go.
I am so pleased with how this room turned out. We worked together to decide on the types of furniture that would work best for the space. A year on and my partner still loves his studio room.  This room has proven to be very useful in the current climate with the global Pandemic, providing him with his own space to carry out his work.
